Privacy Policy

Daybook is a delivery deadline and editing queue tool for photographers, operated by Cortney Lang Photography in Argyle, Texas. This policy explains what Daybook collects, why, and what it will never do.

What Daybook reads

Daybook reads your calendar so it can work out when your galleries are due. It is read only. Daybook never creates, edits, moves or deletes anything in your calendar.

You choose how to connect:

• Google Calendar, where you authorize read only access to the calendars you pick.
• A calendar feed, where you paste a link your calendar app publishes, from Apple Calendar, Outlook, Google or a booking system.

Either way, you choose which calendars Daybook watches. Calendars you do not tick are never read.

What Daybook stores

• Your email address and password, handled by our authentication provider. Daybook never sees your password in readable form.
• Your business name and display settings.
• For the calendars you watch: event titles, descriptions, dates, times and locations, within a window of roughly 60 days back and 120 days forward.
• What Daybook works out from those events: the job, the client or group name, the people to be edited, the delivery date, and which ones you have ticked off.
• Your turnaround rules and days off.
• If you connected Google, an access token held so Daybook can refresh your bookings each morning. It is stored encrypted.
• If you added a feed, the feed link, stored so Daybook can re-read it.

Daybook does not store your photographs. It never touches your galleries, your images or your client deliverables.

Google user data

Daybook's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically: Daybook uses Google Calendar data only to build and show your delivery schedule and editing queue. It does not transfer that data to anyone except as needed to provide the service to you, or as required by law. It does not use it for advertising. Humans do not read it, except where you have asked for support and given permission, where it is needed for security, or where the law requires it.

Who else sees your data

Nobody, other than the services that run Daybook:

• The database, authentication and hosting providers that store and serve the app.
• Nothing else. Daybook does not sell your data, does not share it with advertisers, does not use it to train anything, and has no third party analytics reading your bookings.

Public share pages

You can turn on a public page for a job so clients can see progress. This is off unless you switch it on, one job at a time.

A public page shows only a surname and a package name, plus the shoot date, the delivery date and a progress count. It never shows a first name, a parent or guardian name, a coach name, a jersey number, an email address, a phone number or an address. Much of this work involves children, and a shared link travels further than you intend, so this rule is built into the software rather than left as a setting.

Turning sharing off, then on again, issues a new link. The old one stops working.

Children

Daybook is for professional photographers and is not directed at children. Photographers' calendars often contain details about minors. Daybook stores that information only to build your editing queue, never publishes it, and you remain responsible for the client data on your own calendar.

Deleting your data

You can disconnect a calendar or remove a feed at any time in the app, which stops Daybook reading it.

You can delete your account from Settings. That permanently removes your account, your jobs, your progress, your rules and any stored tokens. It cannot be undone.

You can also revoke Daybook's access to your Google account at any time from your Google account permissions page, whether or not you delete your Daybook account.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is scoped per account, so no photographer can read another photographer's jobs or clients. Tokens and feed links are stored encrypted.

No system is perfect. If a breach affects your data, you will be told.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, you will be told in the app before it takes effect.
